Listing Description

A Little Bit About Me
I recently turned 18 and live at home with my parents.  I made a very bad decision about 2 years ago and dropped out of school.  I've recently thought really long and hard about the direction my life is going - NO WHERE.  I've realized that the only way to improve my future is to go back to school.  I am taking the GED test in December and will be applying to the Paul Mitchell School for cosmotology.  I've always loved doing people's hair and makeup - so that would be my dream job.  My long term goal is to open my own salon one day.

Current Credit Situation
Well, I just don't have a credit score.  I've applied for a couple of store and gas station cards but was turned down because I don't have any credit.  I like the fact that a loan through Prosper will help me build my credit.  I have learned from my parents how important a good credit rating is for my future and am committed to making my monthly payments on time.

What I Will Do With The Loan
My mom told me 6 months ago that I should start saving for a car.  Did I listen?  NO!   Now I finally have a life plan and no transportation to make it happen.  I live in a fairly rural area where the closest bus stop is over 3 miles away, so public transportation is not an option.  My family only has one car which my dad uses to go to work and he doesn't get home until after night classes start so I couldn't use his.  My mom works from home so there was never a need for a second car.  I currently carpool to and from my full-time job at Burger King.  Unfortunately, at this point in time my parents are not in a position to loan me the rest of the money I need for a car.  Since I have no credit, I can't get a traditional loan and the "Buy Here - Pay Here" car lots don't report to the credit agencies.  Why on Earth would I want to take on a debt that wasn't going to help build my credit?

My Monthly Financial Picture
As I stated before, I live with my parents, brother, and sister.  The only monthly expenses I have are $50 to my carpool buddy for gas and about $100 a month for cell phone minutes.  I bring home about $800 a month from my Burger King job so will not have any problem repaying the loan.  Unfortunately, up to now  - I've used my money shopping, eating out, etc.

I hope that you will consider my request and help me make my future brighter.  As I stated before, I am committed to repaying on time; I only ask that you give me a chance to prove myself.  Someday I hope to be able to help others the way you are helping me.
