Listing Description

I am seeking a loan to pay off pressing back bills so I can devote my time, energy and resources to resume a part-time career as a professional writer after becoming permanently disabled.

My current income is $481.60 per month for life from a structured settlement resulting from my injury awarded several months ago.

My monthly income should increase dramatically once I start getting my SSDI payments.  This should be around $600 to $1,000 per month plus a balloon payment to cover back payments.

My present expenses for rent, utilities and public transportation (I am unable to drive) are very low because of help from a now financially exhausted family member, my church and a very understanding landlord who now needs to be paid.

Once I can take care of pressing back bills, I will be able to devote myself to mastering Dragon, a voice recognition software program that will allow me to research and write on the computer using only my voice.  My disability requires that I use a hands-free voice recognition system from a reclining position.  In this way I can ramp up to working part-time as a professional writer again.

Paying off these pressing back bills will also free up the resources I need to get fully operational.  Thankfully, I was given an old Dell desktop computer, along with Dragon 7, so I can at least reach out for the much needed help like I’m doing at this moment, however, I received recently the update for Dragon 9 and can’t use it right now due to not having the needed system requirements on this older Dell model.

Besides paying off back bills, this loan will also enable me to upgrade the Dell computer to the necessary requirements in order to run Dragon 9, which is a much better voice recognition program, supposedly able to run more of the computer with just my voice.

Beyond this, I will be able to start writing again in order to increase my monthly income and be able to keep work, email, research and solicit work completely on my own without any help of any kind.  FYI, up until my injury, I had been a professional writer for over thirty years.  Currently, I am a member of the Writers Guild of America west, a professional writer’s union.

I wanted to let whoever supplies this loan know that keeping payment arrangements for this loan will not be a problem as I will be receiving within the next month a lump sum from my annuity earmarked for this specific purpose.

Finally, up until becoming permanently disabled, I was extremely independent and self-reliant.  Being forced into a situation in which I have had to ask for help has been a new experience for me.  But being in this situation has taught me a great deal and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be able to reach out through Prosper.com.
