Listing Description

I've heard wonderful things about the Prosper community.  I am submitting my request for a loan and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to become a positive Prosper member/contributor.

I am a widow after 24 years of marriage, a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5.  I’m a family person and I enjoy spending time with my grandbabies.  I'm a Manager at Waterfalls Services and my annual salary is $50k.  I moved back to my hometown many years ago to reside in the home my late mother left for the family.  I do not have a mortgage payment nor do I have a current car payment.  However, the purpose of the loan is for me to purchase a reliable vehicle, as the one I currently own keeps breaking down unexpectantly.  I live in a rural area and need reliable transportation to get back and forth to work.  Additionally, I would like to get back to my charity work of visiting seniors in retirement homes.  I really enjoyed giving of myself in this way for others who do not have family to visit with them on a regular basis.  It is self-fulfilling and I know the residents enjoy the visits as well.

For years I did not want any additional expenses, especially a car note.  But I realize it's the sensible thing to do for safety reasons, as well as, convenience.  The times we live in today are so dangerous, I do not want to keep taking the risk of being stranded on the road alone and having to inconvenience others when I have to call for help.

My PAST CREDIT history was ranked as “Good” with exception of a late pay in Jan/Feb 2002.  Since that time, I have never missed a pymt on any of my accounts.

My CURRENT CREDIT history is great.  All of my bills are paid on time every month.  I was quite surprised to see that my Prosper grade only ranked as “C” because as of 8/19/06 my credit score was right at the cut-off point between grade “C” and “B”.  That was prior to my disputing and getting two Collections accounts successfully removed from my credit report.  At the time I joined Prosper, I decided to run my personal credit report and discovered there were two Collections accounts shown on my report that did not belong to me.  I quickly disputed the accounts and they were just as quickly removed from my credit report.  I am willing to provide proof of the Experian dispute results, as well as, a copy of my “updated” credit report that shows these accounts removed.  I am assuming that Experian only updates their scoring system once per month.  Hence, my score has not been updated to reflect my accurate score which should rank me as a “B” grade borrower vs. “C” grade.

My monthly bills are:

Water $50
Electric $175
Food $200
Telephone $50
Credit cards $200
Cable $50

My net pay is $3600, so I will have no problem paying my Prosper payment of $360.09 each month.  I have not requested any new credit in the past 3+ years.  The 2 inquiries listed on my report are annual reviews by a creditor.
