Listing Description

Hello, I'm an 18 year old sophomore at Morehouse College in Atlanta, studying Business/Marketing. Morehouse has a rigorous academic course load. It took discipline and hard work in order for me to get accepted. It is one of the top feeder schools to Ivy League graduate programs, like that at Harvard. It's expensive and I need your help.

My hometown is a suburb of Houston, Texas, called Stafford. I'm the product of divorced parents and I'm mostly on my own in this. My mother works 2 jobs and does what she can to help, but its just not enough. I struggled financially (at 17 years old) my freshman year (2005-2006), but what gave me hope was that when I turned 18, I would be able to secure a college loan to pay for the completion of my education. My freshman year, I worked in the college bookstore and started my own graphic design/marketing business. I recently created a web presence for it at onpointmedialive.com. This summer I have a paid internship for the City of Houston, Texas as a camp counselor for 8-12 year olds. But with all that planning, I just got some bad news. I just found out a few days ago, that a student needs at least 21 months of credit history in order to be approved for a student loan and I just turned 18 last October.

Because of the unexpected death of my grandmother, my mother will receive an inheritance of a large sum of money (plus property), but probate is in court as we speak and it could be several months before that process is complete. In the meantime, I've got to meet deadlines for my tuition and housing very, very soon. I need $8,000.00. Thank God I have no monthly credit obligations, except for my one and only credit card. My Prosper credit rating is E becuase I have little history with only one credit card for only a few months. I pay more than the minimum payment on my credit card each month, but I guess not having more credit and for such a short period of time causes me to have this score. Here's how I plan to pay you back for the loan:

Income: Part time work - 200.-300.
            Graphic D.Business - 400.-600.
            Mother's contribution - 200.

I'm willing to pay as much intrest as needed on this loan. Thank you for your consideration.
