LendingStats Accounts, Extended Credit Data, Watch Lists & More

May 1st, 2008 | News & Updates

This update took a little longer than usual because it contains a significant amount of changes. Sorry about keeping you waiting :-) If you notice any bugs, shoot an email to . We’re still going through all the feedback that’s accumulated, so give us some time to get back to you.

The update is broken up into two parts: account and non-account related features.

Account functionality:

Non-account functionality:

  • Updated the Listing Picker page. You can now customize and see exactly how the Consensus rating is generated.
  • Added a Bidding Activity page where you can see the bidding activity on Prosper by month and by day.
  • Added a new chart section to Lender Profiles. You can now see a detailed breakdown of your lender portfolio by Loans Funded, Bidding Activity and Loan Map.
  • Switched the late rate calculation from Penncro to FirstSource. You will notice a small drop in ROI if you have a significant amount of lates since FirstSource recovery rates are currently lower.
  • Updated the way lender/group rank is calculated. They will now be based on the estimated portfolio size. The top lender/group lists on the home page have been updated as well. (NewHorizon)
  • Added a shortcut to the top right search field that allows you to go to a listing page directly. Just type in the listing number.
  • You can now filter lender and group lists by 12 and 18 month loan ages. (Johan)

New Year, New Update

February 6th, 2008 | News & Updates

We’ve updated our contact information to better address your requests. We’re still transitioning from our old email address, so please resend your emails to our new address if we don’t get back to you within a few days. Thanks, and keep the feedback coming.

Here are the highlights of what’s changed in this update:

  • Added a Bid History tab to the Listing Profile page. You can use it to check out who has bid on a listing as well as their estimated ROI and portfolio age. This should give you an idea whether seasoned lenders are funding a listing or “newbie” lenders.
  • Color coded certain table columns to make it easier to distinguish the values at a glance. One example of this is on the aforementioned Listing Bid History tab.
  • Updated the requirements to make the Top Lenders By Estimated ROI list to 6 months. (micskill)
  • Fixed a bug where loans with paid status were being counted as both current and paid in the barchart. (zcommodore/gassman)
  • Added text describing how the Loan Map works. (NewHorizon)
  • The Bid History chart will be hidden for lender profiles when you customize the profile since it’s not affected by the customization. (NewHorizon)
  • Fixed wording on how loan fees are calculated on the FAQ page. (ira01)

Maps & Friendly URLs

December 8th, 2007 | News & Updates

We added a couple of new features as well as the usual assortment of bug fixes and interface tweaks. If anything doesn’t work as it should, please let us know. Thanks for all your feedback!

  • Added a new page called Loan Map which allows you to view Prosper loans graphically on a map.
  • Added “friendly” URLs. For example, if you know the exact name of a lender, you can just type in the following to go straight to their profile page: lendingstats.com/lenders/[lender name]. Saves you a trip to the search field. Works for groups (lendingstats.com/groups/[group name]) and listings (lendingstats.com/listings/[listing number]) as well.
  • Updated the collection rates used to calculate estimated ROI corresponding to how Prosper split out the Penncro Collection rates by credit grade.
  • Added a projected bar to the Total Loans Funded page. (leoporello)
  • Updated the Borrowers Who Lend page to take into account active loans in addition to the listing. (leoporello)
  • Added the Paid status to the bar chart on the member profile page. (NewHorizon)
  • Fixed a bug where URL links for lender names containing an apostrophe didn’t work. (NewHorizon)

Estimated ROI Update & New Customization Features

October 18th, 2007 | News & Updates
  • Added an audit page for the Estimated ROI. You can now click into the Estimated ROI on the Member Profile pages and see how the number is being calculated.
  • Updated Average Loan Age Weighted to include Paid/Defaulted loans. This will affect the Estimated ROI for older portfolios (boost up in ROI).
  • Updated the chance a Late will flip to Current in the Estimated ROI formula from 50% to 25%. This is based on data from the past 8 months (lowers ROI for portfolios with a lot of Late loans).
  • Collection Rates for Estimated ROI calculations have been updated from the latest Penncro Collection Rates.
  • Added a date range to the Member Profile Customization section. This lets you see how your portfolio has done over a given date range. A lot of users requested this feature so they can see how their portfolios were doing after the initial learning curve. (Lazy Man and Money, pninen)
  • Added additional customization features to the Loan List page.
  • Changed the bar chart on the Total Loans Funded page that allows you to switch from viewing the page by amount or by count. (pjz)
  • Fixed a bug introduced in the last update where clicking the pie chart was not showing you the corresponding slice. (pjz)

New Stats and Customization Features

September 28th, 2007 | News & Updates

A number of things have been added in this update. Here are the highlights:

  • The Lender Breakdown page has been updated and renamed the Lender Overview page. You can use this page to get an overview of lender ROI.
  • Added an “Active Lenders and Borrowers” chart to the Prosper Membership Growth page. (Steve)
  • The “Customize” section found throughout the site has been updated to allow multiple credit grades and loan statuses to be selected. For example you can customize the Total Loans Funded page to show stats for AA and A borrowers only. (thisguy, Lazy Man and Money)
  • Added Time Left column to the Borrowers Who Lend page, removed the Title column for space (FML)
  • Updated the Active Lender Bids page to show lenders whose screen names start with numbers. (Eric)
  • Fixed a caption bug on the group profile page for the bar chart. (Ron)
  • Moved Repeat Borrowers from the Stats page to the Analytics page.
  • Patched a bug on the Listing Picker page where multiple bids from the same lender were getting counted multiple times. (bolapara)

Enhancements and Bug Fixes

August 18th, 2007 | News & Updates

Slowly getting back on track. If you have questions/comments please post a comment or shoot us an email. We’re still sorting through the mounds of email that’s accumulated the past month, so if you feel your request hasn’t been addressed in a timely fashion, feel free to send us a follow-up email.

  • As requested, a Lend To Loan Ratio column has been added to the Lenders Who Borrow page. (A ratio greater than 1 means the borrower has more invested in Prosper then they are trying to borrow) (jcw3rd)
  • Fixed a bug where the number of late loans was showing up as zero for some member profiles. (A.J.)
  • Fixed a bug where member profile pages weren’t displaying properly after customization. (Tyler)

We’re Back

August 7th, 2007 | News & Updates

We’re back after a longer than expected hiatus. We apologize for the delay between updates. There’s a saying that things happen in threes, well, in a perfect storm of sorts, our web programmer needed to take a leave of absence last month. Between that, the Prosper data changes, and our backend changes/server migration, we’ve been trying to pick up the slack.

Things should hopefully be back to normal now. We’ve tweaked our site and added a blog to keep you better informed of things like this in the future. We look forward to your comments.

LendingStats Blog

July 30th, 2007 | News & Updates

We appreciate feedback from our visitors. It lets us know where we have to improve and helps shape the direction of the site.

One of the things we noticed when reading through our email feedback was the amount of useful information submitted by our visitors. Many of your questions, concerns, and comments were broadly applicable to our visitor base. Answering your emails in a one-to-one setting did not allow the rest of our visitors benefit from our shared knowledge.

Thus, we’ve created a blog to disseminate useful information to a wider audience, and also to keep you up to date on the latest happenings at LendingStats. We hope you find it helpful.

Status Update

June 20th, 2007 | News & Updates

Just a note on the lack of Prosper data updates lately. Prosper made changes to their data export format and we’re updating our calculations to account for them. Unfortunately, it’s taking longer than usual because the changes were made without prior notice to 3rd party sites like ours and came at an especially bad time for us. We’re in the middle of making major changes to our backend to ensure the speed and stability of our site. Things should pick up in a short while and we’ll be able to address your requests. Stay tuned.
