Tweaks, Bugs and Enhancements

May 4th, 2007 | News & Updates
  • Added a customize section to the Total Loans Funded page. You can break that page down by credit grade, DTI, etc. (Got the idea reading through pninen’s Late Loan Statistics thread on the prosper forums.)
  • The Time Left column has been added to the Active Listings and Listing Picker pages.
  • Fixed a bug where a borrower’s loan from a prior group was being counted in the new group that he/she joined. (zcommodore)
  • Added a toggle capability to the site so you can view the old charts. The button is on the top right corner above the search box. (robotech/hollowoak)
  • Fixed a crumbtrail link issue in the Analytics section of the site. (NewHorizon)

    Quick question…,

Where is the most appropriate place to send suggestions for enhancements?

For example, on the lenders who borrow list, I would like to see a lend to loan request ratio item and sort by enhancement.

In other words, I browse that list regularly and I look for lenders who are seeking to borrow less than they have lent out to date. I am not interested in someone who has loaned $50 but is asking for a $25,000 loan for themselves. On the other hand, someone who has loaned out $8,000 and is asking for $3,000 for themselves is worth a lookover for me.

In this case, the ratio should be an inverse value. The $8,000 on loan with a $3,000 borrow request should be a 2.66% ratio and the $50 on loan and $25,000 borrow request should be a 0.002% request. Think of it as a “confidence” score of sorts.

The default sort could be high to low and there could be a sort option for only those listings with a ratio or confidence score above a certain value (say 1% or above).

I hope that makes sense. I have lots of ideas, I’m just not sure the best place to share them???

You can send an email to lendingstats@gmail.com.

We went on a hiatus for a month+ (vacation, work, etc.) so as you can imagine there is a backlog of feature requests.

Definately like your idea though. (The way I used it was to sort by amount invested and how much they have currently in winning bids to determine who to lend to)

Right, that’s in part what I’m doing right now… I’m sorting by amount invested and then looking at how much they are asking to borrow. After that, I look at their own lending stats to see the quality of their portfolio, age, etc.

But you understand that the ratio I’m suggesting would return a different sort order than the merely sorting by amount invested right? It allows a person to sort out a lot of the noise.

I know that space is in some ways an issue on that page, but a few additional columns would also be tremendeously helpful in analysis (and additional filter choices).

I would love to be able to see on that screen the following information as well:

Average Credit Grade of the Lender Portfolio
Average Loan Age of the Lender Portfolio
Estimated ROI of the Lender Portfolio

If I had a lender to borrow ratio and those additional 3 items on that screen, I’d suggest that I could probably build a successful lending strategy from that screen and it would be a massive time saver from what it would take right now where you have to cut through a lot of noise and dig into a lot of individual profiles to find a few select gems in the bunch.

    Just some thoughts.

I have lots of others, but I may let you get caught up a bit before I start tossing the e-mails your way

That sound’s interesting, I’ll look into compacting the data on that page so it becomes easier to use. There were some features that were supposed to be implemented prior to the break that would of made all of this easier, hopefully it will be added in a later update.
